Eco Council
Bourn Primary is part of the Eco schools programme, and is already the proud recipient of both the Bronze and Silver awards. We have an Eco council, including a number of children, teachers and governors, who meet to discuss how we can make our school more eco-friendly.
Eco Committee Children 2011-2012
We now have lots of different systems in place to help make our school more sustainable. Some of the initiatives are listed below:
- recycling of all food waste.
- recycling of card, paper, glass and aluminium.
- litter picking monitors
- an active eco committee which meets regularly.
Other projects have included cleaning up the nature reserve, putting fencing around the pond and each class having its own vegetable beds.
