Bourn Science
The Science curriculum at Bourn Primary Academy aims to enable pupils to thrive in an ever-changing science focused future. We live in the heart of a prominent scientific community, which will influence our pupils’ futures in ways yet unknown. Our approach to teaching and learning science is underpinned by the development of a positive attitude to science learning, and the expectation that all children are capable of achieving great things. We foster an enquiring mind and the ability to question the world around them by harnessing their sense of curiosity and excitement about natural phenomena. Pupils acquire scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. They are equipped with skills to answer scientific questions through the methodology of scientific enquiry and to make rational and discerning decisions based on scientific evidence.
